PISTACHIO VOODOO CHILD

PISTACHIO VOODOO CHILD
' This ingredient, Voodoo Dancer Lily, has become a metaphor for beauty that reveals itself slowly, unexpectedly, and on its own terms'

The creation of this scent was to push against the other Pistachio scents out-there. For those who want depth over sugar, mystery over familiarity. Its gourmand thats grown up focusing on the nutty aspect, and surrounding it with rich jasmine and sandalwood for a new direction.

It started as something deeply intimate, formed while I was hiking through the jungle forests of Vietnam. That’s where I first encountered the Voodoo Dancer Lily - a rare, strange flower that can grow to nearly four feet tall, with deep black and purple tones. It’s said to get its name because when sunlight hits it, the plant sways from side to side, almost dancing, as if possessed by some kind of voodoo magic.

That moment of transformation stayed with me. I wanted to capture feelings of the unexpected, slightly off piste and strange to be the heart of this scent.

As I developed the fragrance over the course of about a year, it became clear that pistachio was the perfect counterpoint. I wanted to flip the script on what a gourmand could be. I stripped away the sugar and the nostalgia and replaced it with something otherworldly. My intention was never to create a dessert or anything syrupy or sweet.

Instead, I wanted a timeless, nutty, jasmine-forward scent—toasted and earthy, full-bodied with a soft powdery quality. Layers of jasmine and sandalwood bring depth and warmth, creating something that feels sensual rather than safe. Pistachio Voodoo Child lives in that space between comfort and mystery, familiar yet completely reimagined.
